Harry update... Not good news.. whats he worth?? (pics included)

My heart goes out to you it really does. A similar thing happened to a horse I used to ride. He was turned out in the field as usual, but the owner of the farm had stupidly left machinery in the field hidden in the grass. Poor boy galloped over it and severed his tendon and had to be put to sleep. His owner was absolutely heart broken as were all the people involved with him as he was such a star. The owner of the horse tried to get compensation from the farm owner but it proved too expensive to pursue and as far as I know she didn't get anything back, so if there is a tiny silver lining in your situation AlisonK then at least the contractors are not quibbling over the vet bills (and rightly so!) I really hope your boy makes a quick recovery.

RIP Supersonic Soz

Thank you for advice and good wishes.. The contractors involved are insured through the NFU, who have already told us it is a clear case of negliglance.
Gutted over the whole thing and all the money in the world will never replace him, he is my best friend and even if he will never be 100% sound he will always be here.

What a beautiful horse, and an awful injury.

Regarding your claim - the loss of use value will be based on how much you have him insured for.

Hugs, I can understand your devastation.
