Arrived at field last night to give him finodyne (should have 24hourly but vet said if he still was unable to move to give 12 hourly).
Well I'll be b*******! I couldn't find him! He was no longer stood by gate which he had been doing for 24hrs! He's only managed to hobble right to the end of the field (about 4 acres) and then hobbled back to say hello to me, eyes bright and looking alert!
Needless to say I didn't waste a £10 shot of finadyne as he was beginning to weight bear on hind.
Called vet this morning to tell progress and she told me to give him more finadyne at 9 (which is 24hrs since the last dose). Then she said to poultice it in field..........
Well what a palarver! Peeing down rain (knee deep mud!), nosey 3yr old tb companion! You can imagine! AND he really wasn't helpful. He has a nice glint to his eye now and just wants to wobble about! Not my best poultice I must admit, but if it stays on for an hour or 2 then thats a bonus.
Vet coming at 11.30am to see him and look at a couple of others, so hopefully he'll be even sounder and may get down to the stables for a proper examination!!
I'm really chuffed right now as I have seen such an improvement in 24hrs.
I'll keep you posted. XX

Thank goodness!
