I have been up pacing the house all night and have decided to post on here,although was going to leave it initially until later on this evening.

After a very tough week or so,it has finally been decided to have Harry PTS. He has been lame on/off badly for the last 10 days.

He is being PTS in the morning at 11.00.

It is the kindest way for him now,no matter how heart wrenching.

I have given him my utmost care and kindness for the last 3 months. I have asked nothing of him,just wanted him to be happy and return to being 'just a horse'.

As far as I am concerned he was let down years ago by many people. He has a very bad back,constant foot abcesses,arthritis,dropped fetlocks and no doubt some degree of pain day in,day out. However,up until October last year,he has been on/off ridden,gone lame and then sold again.

I know I am hurting right now,but I feel so strongly after dealing with him and his totally forgiving nature in humans. I just cannot see how anyone can knowingly pass a horse on with significant ailments as a ridden horse. It is the kindest thing to PTS.
