I was at Hartpury and the team put so much effort into the ground watering and aerovating. I thought the ground was as good as it could be. No wonder the aussies and NZs think we whinge too much!!
I went to Hartpury for long enough and know the ground would have been as good as it could have been!
Just read on Twitter that the withdrawals were down to the ground, no idea what percentage that was mind you!
I walked the course purely out of interest on both Wednesday and Friday nights (was training in the area) and the ground team were working hard spiking and watering. The ground looked good though there was a short stretch on the golf course which I understand couldn't be treated - it was minimal though. The improvements from Wednesday to Friday were very noticable BUT only the track of the course was treated - I wonder how many people assumed the ground was as it is on the rest of the estate having walked the course earlier in the week? I would hope 3* riders would know better than that though!!
