Not really posted in here before, but you all seem like a great crowd so here we go....
Went up to Willerby Hill for the regionals at the weekend. Terrible journey - 4 hours of wind and vertical sleet, but managed to arrive in one piece!!
I must confess to not having the best preparation for the show and neither horse had actually been ridden for the previous 3 days thanks to the weather at home and the fact that my arena is currently 2m from a building site!! But thought I'd give it a go anyway!!
Ronnie has a few issues and doesn't like to be on his own so he thought he'd whinny his way through both his tests resulting in a last and a 2nd to last!! Hopefully he'll keep his mouth shut when we take him to Myerscough for his other test in a few weeks.
Bill on the other hand was a very good boy (apart from trying to buck me off in the working in!!!) He was a little tight and tense, and as a result he broke in his first medium trot and lost his rythmn in the 2nd, he also struck off on the wrong canter lead! But he still managed to score 71%+ and be 2nd in the novice freestyle thereby booking his ticket to Hartpury!! Yippee!!
I've still got another regional to do at Myerscough with 4 tests happening there so fingers crossed that we might manage another ticket too.
Good luck to anyone else who has still got regionals to come.
