Mainly asking from the people who are currently undertaking this, or did in the past.

Is it any good? Does it give you the necessary knowledge to become a racehorse trainer? I’m open to any kind of experience someone has!

If you definitely want to be a trainer, then you may be better off working on a racing yard, getting a pupil assistant position and working your way up through the assistant trainer and trainers course at either the British Racing School or National Racing College. You would still have to do this once you’re done with your degree otherwise you won’t be able to train horses under rules! You also need to study for a Level 3 in racehorse care before you can take those courses. There are options to do a foundation degree alongside it as well.

If you’re not 100%, looking at the modules it would help prepare you for other jobs in racing or other equine rehabilitation/ business as well if you chose to move into another sector. Plus give you some more background information but just remember you will still need to complete a lot of studying after your degree to get the necessary qualifications for the BHA.
