My pug has been absolutely savaged by these little blighters. An unfortunate side effects of the warm autumn is the longer activity duration of these nasty critters.

Pug has had a couple of courses of steroids in the last year (typical allergic to life little sausage!) so vet will not prescribe any further courses, so wondering if anyone has any suggestions for relieving his itchiness? And soothing the sore orange bumps.

Poor puggy :,(

My dog itches from allergies. I find udder cream one of the best things to soothe, if not an aloe and tea tree lotion. Plus she gets a piriton night and day, and a supplement called Itchy Dog in her feed.

What are the itchy bumps like? Do they get scabs?

Harvest mites were a nightmare last year..we had a schnauzer with a beard full, the st poodle with the coat full...I used frontline spray but it didn't get rid of them..in the end I bit a controversial bullet and used bravecto. Overnight the dogs slept without itching and the bed was scattered with tiny shriveled mite corpses ..it lasts three m ,so it's a risky drug..mine were fine with it,but I'd only ever use it once a year. For us the season is May to July. Then I revert to frontline plus.
I even got them inside my nose!!,No kidding..so we HAD to use something drastic.
FOr myself tee tree oil soap and shampoo worked well..you could try this for your pug if you don't want to risk a controversial med such as bravecto.
I also use thornit ,but for the ears.and it works well on both dogs.
