Harvey Returns Home!

Harvey came home last night and settled back straight away. Vets are very pleased with his fractures and 2 have started to heal very nicely. The third is not as bad as first thought but not healing as quick so he will have to have a few more xrays in a week of so.

They have re-stitched 3 of his cuts and the 4th had to have staples as the stitches were not holding.

He was pleased to see everyone and his grumpy mood swings have gone.

I hate to think of the vet bill that the insurance will be stumping up!

10 days vet stay, injections every day (3), pain killers for 7 of those 10 days. Bandage change and 10 x-rays every other day.

Ouch.

Glad to hear he is doing well. That is going to be one scary vets bill. Our pony had a fracture, she had 3 lots of xrays (4 each), about 8 visits in total, bandages and painkillers etc, but was never admitted to vets, our bill was nearly £3000. Hope you insurance company doesn't try and get out of paying! Good luck to Harvey, hope the box rest doesn't make him too grumpy.
