Just looked on thier website and found this,

WE ARE MOVING!!

By July 4th all Harwood Arabian Stud's horses will have moved to their new home at Larkinglass Farm, Motcombe, Near Shaftesbury, Dorset SP7 9HY. Johnnie and Georgie Moore have made the decision to relocate the stud and themselves to the West country.

The Moores have been wonderfully supported by Stud Manager Peter Towler and Sarah and Maurisa Sterry since Monica Calvert's death in February 2007. It has proved impractical to run two properties, at a distance from each other and although very sad to leave West Sussex the Moores are excited by the future possibilities and with their involvement with Larkinglass Ltd. This includes a stud of thoroughbreds and some Arabians overseen by Mrs Liz Harrington and it is also the home to a training yard of National Hunt and Flat horses under the care of young trainer Neil Mulholland. The move will enable the Harwood Stud to continue and hopefully flourish.

We shall be saying goodbye to Peter who has been a valuable member of the Harwood team for almost a decade. He is also off to the West Country to work for Georgian Arabians based near Minehead.

I cant believe they are moving away, Peter the stud manager bred Axel and he was born there

Yes, the stud has been up for sale for some time, I think they want about 3 million for it, which isn't bad given it's location and the land/facilities there.

I used to work there at weekends, years and years ago, and loved it. It had its ups and downs, but it was a lovely setup. Wish I could win the lottery and buy the place! Mrs Calvert was a character too - I wonder who will take the place over, I am praying not developers....

The place holds some very fond memories for me. I know it was getting a bit rundown towards the end of my time there, but then Mrs C spent a lot of money doing the place up, new fencing, and even some new cross country jumps (although they never seemed to get used). I used to have fantastic conversations with her, and the Arab still holds a very special place in my heart because of her influence. A racing lady, through and through IMO.

I have heard rumours that they couldn't sell the place in it's entirety and so have sold it off in lots, but that might not be the case.

Yeah, just over the A24 and the petrol station you can see the Tower for Christ's Hospital which was my boarding school - used to drive past the stud all the time. Eaglestone should know about it too?
