OH took him shooting Saturday was find after, took him to training fun scurry Sunday he sat on his bum while we ran a stand he then did 2 straight retrieves and a blind-he was slow on all which isn't like him, put it down to being tired.
Got him home and he is lame on front leg was 5/10ths now about 3/10ths have checked over no heat or swelling small lump in between pads but no sign of thorn, am now waiting to see if foot balloons hence thorn or if it gets better strain, or no improvement or worsening then vets.
But he is 2 and never been injured before. He is not coping well with it, keeps trying to sit on me like a lap dog, not eating his food will eat other stuff tho- although that has been this way for a week.
Does this sound a ok plan?

Nobody??
I'm more concerned now tho he has taken himself off and keeps growling at us if we go near him not to stroke but if within 5ft of him.
Im going take him vets I think he must be in real pain. :|

Hope he's a bit better today and it all went ok at the vets.

If its any consolation, one of my labs has hurt her pad too and is hopping round on three legs half the time feeling sorry for herself.

Theres nothing as good at sad faces as a lab!

Hi sorry been at work with no signal.
Been to vets, they cant find anything wrong really
Tender intestines and slight increase in white cells- so given anti biotics and put him on chicken and rice diet as has lost over 1.5kilo in 4days. So hopefully see improvement in next few days.
Vet thinks his leg is ok no tenderness except in paw only slight tho so he thinks he is being dramatic!!

Bless, he's just a bit of a drama queen then - gota love a Lab.

I'm sure a simple diet will sort his tummy out, hope he's soon feeling better as to be fair sounds like he was pretty uncomfortable to be growling at you.

Oh poor Labradog. Hope you get to the bottom of things and he's feeling better soon. It's horrible when animals are miserable as they can't just tell us the problem.

Thanks well he has eaten now. However his leg is now causing limping again- not sure if from the vet messing or the fact my idiot OH decided he didn't like fact he was miserable so took him for walk when home from vets.

Thanks sheddy- that was my first concern vet doesn't think it is as full movement and no restriction on the leg. He is normal on leg again.
Where he went shooting at weekend was very boggy so thinking he has twisted it at some point. If still not correct by weekend he will go for xray. However vet doesn't want do anything like anti inflammatories or anything til he is eating properly.
