Has any body had or known a horse diagnosed with glaucoma?

A pony I have just got on loan has just been diagnosed with glaucoma and I am not sure what the long term prognosis will be. My vet said it is very rare for a horse to get this condition, he is treating it with bute for the pain and cream to go into the eye. I would like to have a bit more information to give her owner. Thank you.

Try googling it for the human version. It doesnt sound nice though. something to do with pressure behind the eye and eventual blindness i think. I looked after a lady with it donkeys years ago. sorry cant be much help but welcome to the forum anyway !!

What were the symptons, why did you call the vet out to see if the first place. I havent any ideas sorry to say, just intrigued!
