Has any one ever ridden their horse naked?? (no tack on the horse)

I'd love to ride tackless but don't dare ride bareback because he's very big, narrow and got very high withers! Plus my balance isn't the best. I'd be straight off! Trying bitless soon though and eventually bridleless when we're confident enough :)

Yes i have, she did have a headcollar on as i wasn't sure how it'd go with just rope round neck so i wanted some security there just incase, but i didn't need to use it :D it went well, walk, trot and canter on 20m circle, change of rein in trot and walk trot canter on other rein with just rope round neck, i didnt topuch the leadropes attatched to headcollar! i will be trying it again and hopefully progress to just rope round neck without added security of heacollar with leadropes there :D
i can jump her up to 3ft6 with just headcollar on though so i hope i can try it with just rope round neck too :D

OOOOPS!! I must have missed that stage of having a head collar on as back up! :o lol!

What people do with their own horses is down to them... if someone wants to copy the girl in the video and get injured that is down to them. People should take responsibility for their own actions and not blame other people.
She is not responsible if anyone wants to copy her and I think its wonderful that she has put such an amazing video up showing the kind of bond we all wish we had with our horses.
 
Tbf, whilst I think doing what she is with no hat is rather silly, if YouTube had been around in my teens, there would be plenty of evidence of me doing mad things, like riding hatless, hacking less than well behaved horses in headcollars & leadropes, jumping rather silly objects etc. And loads of stuff like the summer a few of us were obsessed by our new game which combined a jump off & gymkhana games. Which mainly involved jumping at speed whilst still half on & not yet astride. Or the summer we decided riding sidesaddle, minus any saddles was fun. Or the jockey game, where we put our stirrups up jockey length in gps, put our feet in the bottom loop of the leathers & raced about perched precariously with our feet essentially stuck. And loads more equally hair brained schemes, none of which we copied from YouTube. So whilst I may think she's taking needless risks with no hat now, I'd be a hypocrite if I said I hadn't ever done anything mad, its just I didn't have YouTube as long standing proof.
 
I always used to catch my horses, pop on and gallop up the field on them with no headcollar or anything. Did this with my 12.2hh nutter, then my 15.3hh TB ex racer nutter. Fantastic feeling! I didn't even used to a wear a hat...
