Well I still have a job, a house, a car, and a (self harming) horse and can afford to pay my vets bills so should count myself lucky compared to a lot of people!
I got my own horse, at the tender age of 34, I have waited along time
I also got my foal, who is wonderful.
my middle little girl got her own pony
my 6 year old did her first dressage test and did very well.
so really we have had a very busy year, but it has been very good and are now the owners of 5 ponies/horses.
I also helped a lami pony who was not being looked after, and now she has a new caring owner and is very well.
I am hoping for 2010 to be just as busy.
I've had a lovely 2009. I started a new job in Jan in a lovely school (I'm a teacher) after a really tough time in an inner london boys school the term before, did lots with my pony, and had lots of fun.
I've had a crap horsey 09. Broke my collar bone when we both fell after a jump in february, so 4 weeks off riding for that. Then horse went lame in April, and she is still not 100%. (very long story) so she had about 10 weeks of total rest, if not more, and has just been lightly hacking since. She is going out on loan next tuesday, going to miss her immensely, but hopefully I might find something new to progress with. ROLL ON 2010!!!!!!!
On the plus side...i changed jobs from one i hated to one I love, moved my daughter to the school i work at and she is much happier after struggling to make friends at her last school (she isonly 6 bless her), reschooled Milly over the spring and summer and we now have a lovely bond and she is hacking quietly, daughter has joined pony club with her super new pony.
On the downside...had my lovely old boy PTS in October which was heartbreaking, had tricky times with my husband, stessed about money but thats sorted now....
