Yes I've used it on my competition horse
The horse didn't feel his normal self. He is usually a delight to school but had become a little off - especially shoulder in on the right. No one could see what I was talking about as it was subtle.
I had the dentist out as I thought it may have been teeth - they were fine
I had the vet who said he was fine but maybe tight in his pole and gave me some exercises
I still wasn't happy and I discussed it with a friend who happens to be an equine vet (specialises in musculoskeletal problems and scanning). She came and gave him a look over and said he was fine but extremely tight in his triceps and offered to do some acupuncture.
I am a total sceptic but as she offered I took her up on the offer!
I rode him before the session and then 10 mins after (she doesn’t normally do that but I was interested). It totally transformed him - stunning difference.
He had 3 sessions (1 a week) and it did him the world of good.

While she was there she also did my old retired competition horse who has spavin and navicular. It helped him a little but nothing like what it did for Beau. Plus the results were not long lasting as the cause (the arthritis) is still present.

I know she does it on horses with a variety of MSK problems that aren't responding to other treatments and has had some very encouraging results

It's definately something I'd do again

Both my horse have just had it for the first time. I had been told ( as I'm sure you have ) that it does not work for all but those it does work on respond very well.

My cob x has a hamstring problem due to an old injury and can be stiff on the leg at times. It's often worse when she's in season, the vet did explain why to me, and as she was tender in the ovary area the vet decided acupuncture may help her. I don't think it's done very much at all tbh so I doubt she will have it again.

My tb drags her toe and can be uncomfortable across her back sometimes - it's all connected. She had her usual McTimoney/Equine Touch a week before the acupuncture but was still tender when the vet came. She didn't like having the needles put in which may be because she was already uncomfortable in that area but I can see a huge difference in her after only one treatment. Her demeanour has changed totally and I would say the toe dragging has improved dramatically. The vet said she will need treating every 6 to 8 weeks alongside her normal back manipulation but if the results are like this every time it will be worth every penny.

My old boy loved it, he and always fell asleep whilst having it done and the next day was a totally different horse when he came out of his stable. His movement was much freer and he seemed altogether happier in himself. Would highly recommend it. :)

Our WB loved it too and the treatment made a huge difference.Chirovet did ours and i can certainly recommend it.WB actually fell asleep. He was so much more fluent in his movements afterwards and i can't put that down to a placebo effect as horses are not aware of the differences as are humans,so no psychological effect.
