I have a shetland who is 25 . In the past she had laminitis but now is fine . She lives with her daughter and tow chaps in a lard tarmac yard and very bare little paddock. She is quite thin ( wormed regularly and has as much hay as she can eat . Goes in at night so that she can eat as much as she can . She was always narriow and is the type of pony that wants to trot all the time . I have just bought a sack of oldie mix ( have emailed the firm three or four times but no reply so no use in telling me to email them !!! ))
Do you think it is ok for a laminitis prone pony ?

Most mixes contain cereals and therefore are unsuitable for laminitics. Check the bag label and look particularly for barley, wheat, oats or maize - any of those ingredients mean it is not suitable.

Suitable feeds would be things like Speedibeet and Spiller's High Fibre Cubes (soaked for oldies).
