My horse has been very very poorly over the past 6 months. Its a very long story! She has lots of digestive problems and has also developed ulcers.shes alot better now and nearly back to her old self. I have been using neighlox which is absolutly fantastic but they have brought out a new product to replace neighlox and because of huge vet bills i cant afford to put her on this new product. I found another product from feedmark called ulcer calm, just wondered if anybody had used it and what they think of it?

Hi

I haven't used ulcer calm but I did try Settlex from Feedmark for windsucking. The info provided said windsucking can sometimes be a sort of relief for stomach ulcers.
So I gave it a go for two or three months. Not cheap but when my youngster suddenly started this out of the blue I was going to try anything. I cant say it didn't work nor can I say it was totally responsible for him stopping winducking as I also had a lady who does Reiki come out to him and I moved yards.
So a combination of the three, Reiki, yard move and Settlex he virtually stopped. It is rare he does it now and he hasnt had Setttlex since Feb.

I had talked to vet at the time. It may be worth considering diet, what may aggravate ulcers. Changing how you manage her diet/ turnout routines etc.
Or try giving Reiki a go?..... Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Ive been working with nutritionists since april so she's on a perfect diet, turn out has to be vry restricted due to problems with hind cut, she has a woodchip paddock she goes in throughout the day and gets field turn out couple of hours a day. she's no longer allowed long fibre so that complicates things further!! however she is very settled and happy which is why im worried about changing supplements because any changes to her diet could set her back. i have enough neighlox reserved for a a couple of months but need to find some thing just as good so she doesnt go down hill again!
