as the weather is nice where I live I decided to go for a 2hr hack on my friends 4yr old. He was very good and he saw tractors, sheep, cows and went on the road for a short time and he was fine with the traffic, he was very good :) My original plan was to take him up to the little stream near us and let him have a look at it but I wasn't paying attention and ended up taking the wrong bridlepath (oops silly me!) so we went on a different route, but we still had a lovley hack :)

Has anyone else been on a nice hack today or are planning to?

No. Only just having breakfast now at 9.45am ish. Been out on the yard since 7am, fed 20 horses, bottle fed 20 baby goats who don't know how to drink, I smell of milk and goat poo, usual stuff.

No time to ride at the moment, annoyingly, as it is a lovely morning. Fields to harrow and we are in the process of fencing off another 3 paddocks in the forest for winter. Often I will go out to get my horse in and someone will want me for something and I won't ride in the end. Anyone who thinks Yard Owners just sit on their backsides raking in rent should have a good hard think about how their fields stay tidy, or how their fences stay upright.:(

Yes had a nice 2 hour hack in a forest nearby. It was a bit windy though and we had to navigate a few fallen trees. Lovely and sunny though.

Yep! Neddy was fab leaving the yard, was very good out on the ride too :) lots of nice canters! It's a shame I'm feeling so ill now though! I think a cold is coming on. Urg! Still, it was such a nice hack, I feel I can't complain :P

Been out for a 3 hour ride to the local nature reserve woods and back. The views of the Cotswold escarpment were wonderful, and the smell of pine trees as we went into the woods was amazing! Unfortunately, it's very wet in there so won't be going back for a while until it dries up a bit. It was a completely new ride for my horse, and she took it all in her stride and seemed to be enjoying her day out as much as me!!

BF and I had a fabulous hack this morning - blue skies and sunshine :-) Went on some grassy tracks, open fields, bit of woodland and a blast on the stubble too! Found some blackberry bushes laden with fruit so popped back on my way home and picked them :-) Happy days!

I so wish :( my lovely boy has not been ridden for 6 months now as his not right, vets don't know whats wrong with him, his only 5 and we loved hacking !!! X

Had a lovely hack up the hills and across Minchinhampton common with both boys - riding and leading! Even a little canter - they were so good :)

It's days like today I appreciate how lucky I am to have my 2 lovely boys. Don't always feel like that when one, the other or both are playing me up ;)

Me. I went for a paddle through the floods!

Boo my picture didn't work. I'll see if I can get it sorted!

Yep, well not particularly nice at all times - Rango and me went on our first solo hack! Involving getting off at 5 gates (we are still working on standing still and he isn't that small) so that was fun, but he was very brave and only had one minor malfunction at the third bonfire we reached he decided it was a horse eating fire and turned tail and ran lol I did get him to turn around eventually and we went past it with much huffing and puffing! Very pleased with my big rango tango :)

I went for a nice pootle on my mare...until she decided a horse eating cyclist with a RUCKSACK on...yes guys a RUCKSACK was just far too stressful and span and ran off :D

what a shame, whats happened to him? I have been in a similar position but found out what was wrong with him, hopefully like mine he will come sound in the end xx

Yes we went out for an hour and went as far as we have ever gone on our own, he was fab but had a good look at the killer plastic sheeting over bricks that was on the side of the road.

Yes. On days like this, I am SO lucky to be at a yard with unlimited off road hacking - went out for two hours with a friend and could have easily been out for longer, but friend had to get back.

Yes I rode for the first time in weeks. My 21 yr old TB has been off with abscesses all summer and she got so bad she put alot of strain on an old check ligament injury. Anyway cutting a very long story short about 3 wks ago the vet and I agreed if she was still in so much pain after that weekend it was kinder to pts. So taking her out today 100% sound not an abscess or any swelling in sight was extra special.
I've been ill

I've been ill for weeks too so my other horse hadn't been ridden either so my friend rode her and both behaved perfectly and we had a lovely walk out in the sun :0)

Yes I had a lovely hack in the sunshine with two friends. Then met another two on the way back and all trundled home together. Everybody was just really happy, so were all the horses. Fun times. :)

Yup. Bit the bullet and turned the lurking yak in the barn into a sleek would be event pony again. He was REALLY well behaved...had no idea how he would be as he is only 5 but he was good as gold. Then had a bit of a jump in the school followed by a solo hack, with dog, down to Denbies vineyard and back!!

Had a mini hack yesterday - have to hack to our school! Not riding today as shattered from yesterday - no sleep at all on Friday night, then field clearance, schooling and working before getting to bed at 2am!
