Don't sit up without the brace.
It's there to stop you twisting your upper body, so until that thought is first nature to you, keep the brace on as the docs/physio has told you to

Mine was the same. It niggled where the break was, but the pain was from lower down, where the BP dug into me (but, as said before, a) if I hadn't had it on I'd have been paralysed, and b) it was that pain that made me go to A&E).
