One of my horses trod on my foot 4 weeeeeeks ago today, as I was bringing him in, as my foot got stuck in the mud and he plonked his big size 1000000 on top of mine

Well after about 3 weeks it stopped really hurting so much and I stopped limping, but now it is swollen and pink, just like a ripe cherry, but pink

I am sure it must have been broken, but how long do you think it will be before it gets back to 'normal'?

My friend's horse trod on my little toe the end of November. Its finally stopped being sore to wear pointed toes but it is still slightly swollen and pink and the bottom of the toe nail is still black

I had one a few years ago (big toe) and it was 6 weeks before I could ride, when I did I was very uncertain about putting any weight on it in the stirrup. However my big toes turn up (silly family genes type thing) and the horse has very kindly straightened one of them out!

I have a partially lifted toe nail on one toe and a joint that hurts when its cold on another from old 'stood on's'! Do they count?

i have no doubt that you could chop off the odd finger or toe and they would simply regrow overnight

I may try it at Weezy's party...to gain attention.
The best I've done is put my dislocated arm back in by myself. Not recommended, by the way.

Oh my goodness I hope that after not being able to wear open toed shoes in the summer that the winter does not bring on painful joints

[/ QUOTE ]Sadly its the least of the painful joints - I seem to be collecting them

must admit that my feet hurt when I get up in the morning and my fingers don't bend very well in the cold, however I don't think I can blame this on the horses ..... just old age

I do! I hate feet as it is but this just makes it worse. My mare had a little spaz attack one day whilst I was leading her in from the field when she twoz a baby and kindly re arranged my foot for me. She took a chunk out my heel and my right leg before squishing my foot leaving me with the weirdest little toe known to man! It's fat, pink and has lovely scars on it.
What gets me, is she wasn't shod at the time as she was a little puppy.

I love my pony...

When I was about 12, my horse stood on my big toe (she was evil). My wellie soon filled up with blood where she had squashed where the nailstarts and the nail was broken. Went to hospital and they took the nail off. Had a big bandage on for days!!

My mother has a squashed little toe from her childhood pony, and many years later B gave her three missing toenails to match

My toes however are still amazingly intact.
