Sold my saddle via internet (HH under £500) yesterday, we exchange emails and this was the finale one, have you had similar,? no I'm not sending it. Just interested in how many people do get caught out?

It's a scam the cheque will initially clear then will turn out to be a fake or stolen.

Well, i guess the million dollar question is how much are they going to send you to cover 'shipping'

If it's thousands then you know it's dodgey, but if it's only a few quid and their payment clears, then i can't see the problem

Its 100% a scam. Seriously you will be fleeced. (Had exactly the same when I was selling a saddle on HHO only I think I got 5 almost identical emails from different people). Sadly I didnt get any real responses so in the end sold it on ebay!

It is a scam, bascially you put the cheque in the bank, wait the 3 or 7 days most people thinks it takes to clear a cheque, you hand over the shipping money in cash, and low and behold on the 10th, yes 10th day the cheque bounces. It takes 10 days for a cheque to be cleared.

My friend did it for a giggle, she is an accountant and knew it would take 10 days, and yes it did bounce - and no she hadn't handed over any money but did it out of interest.

I won't be selling it to them, did seem abit odd when I got the first email. The last email confirmed it was a scam (I think). Just be interested to know how many people DO get caught out!
I am tempted to send an empty box! lol
