I know dogs dream all the time, and mine is always yelping and running in her sleep. However I've never seen a horse do this before and was a bit worried when I went to the field earlier and 3 year old Cody was thrashing about on the ground - I thought he was colicking or fitting or something awful! He was flat out and his legs were twitching and dream-running. I started videoing once I could see he was just dreaming, so I missed the funny bits but you can see a bit in this link. His eyes were rolling back and flickering, ears going crazy and he kept snorting.
Also love his face when he realised I was there!!

Few weeks back I went out to the field & foudn my haffy out for the count his lips were flickering, his legs were twitching like he was dreaming :D

Here he is flat out :)

Yep! A little welshie I used to look after was flat out in the field on her side tossing her head around prancing and whickering :D cutest thing I've ever seen!

Yes one of mine fell asleep with her head in my lap and started dreaming. It was hilarious :) Another time I was sitting up with a mare and there was a commotion in another stable - the horse was galloping and whinnying in his sleep. So sweet.

I used to catch my old shetland having eating dreams quite regularly. One of our TB ex racers we caught having a racing dream. He hadn't raced for years but that's definitely what he was doing - gallop gallop gallop jump gallop gallop gallop jump GALLOP GALLOP.

Yes, I've seen several horses dreaming; running, whickering and even suckling in their sleep. I also have one who snores like a train - standing up.

I'll never forget the first time I heard a horse snoring. I was in the stable next door and heard a horrible noise and looked over the stable door and saw the horse flat out on the ground, eyes rolling and as said, horrible noise. I thought he might be having some kind of a fit and got the YM to look at him. Of course the fuss woke the horse up and that's when I realised he had been snoring.

Actually, moving legs when asleep would explain some strange cuts and knocks my friend's horse gets on his legs sometimes.
