I bought a respiratory one, smells gorgeous but tastes like washing up liquid! No wonder the ponies won't eat it!
 
Hmm, wonder if the mint one would be better, not sure the tack shop would like me trying them all before buying though!
 
Think I might have tried a plain one ages ago! That's interesting as mine also wouldn't eat a mobility or respiratory one (can't remember which one it was.)

Likits though are delicious! I taste test each of his before he gets it (for quality control of course ;) ) particularly delicious are the strawberry, mixed berry, butterscotch and mint!

He also loves Likits he also has their "most challenging" holder yet demolished nearly a whole little Likit in under 10 minutes the other week :o
 
Is that the one that smells liqouricey and lovely?

If so my cob had one and I was very disappointed it didn't taste anywhere near as good as it smelt!

He loved it and liked to share it by slobbering it everywhere. He was grey and managed to get it in his ears, all over his rugs and what seemed like every surface in his stable so I ended up covered in it too.

I am afraid I was mean and refused to let him have another one.
 
I won one once. My old mare would have run through burning buildings to get to hers! Honestly, it was like horse crack - I had to take it off her in the end :-D

She used to dig her teeth in and try and eat it!
 
I'd prefer a plain one but they don't come in a tiny size! Good idea, maybe a likit will work but I'm a bit worried about trying them now! I just thought the pungent molasses would be irresistible (it was to me) Lol.
 
never tried one personally but as a youngster at the yard we all used to have a differenct flavour of lickit and we used to share them all! :o my favourite was the yellow banana one! :D

Hahaha. My boy is like that too. It's like Christmas every time I let him have is garlic lick.
 
I used to get them for my horses but I couldn't stand the sticky brown slobber that got everywhere, I then realised the high amount of sugar was doing them no good and stopped buying them.
 
Not tried horselyx, too sticky! My 20 yr old daughter loves likits tho' - she always asks for a likit bar in her Christmas stocking. My girls won't touch any kind of licks, except Himalayan Rock Salt. Blaze is utterly disgusted if she is offered anything sweet or human food.
 
My god - the horses that were stabled either side of me at my old place had them. Their owners would tie them up outside their stables on a v.long leadrope so they could lick them. Used to drive me bonkers, they got that sticky brown tar stuff all over my stuff, the walls, my horse! Not to mention all over their own faces!!
 
My pony loves them. Shes had original, respiratory and mobility. She goes mad for them but they are messy! Funny tho, she wont entertain likits, hates them!
 
I get fo my pony,he LOVES them! but it oly lasts about a week.... i got him th garlic one his time, and in the morning his nose and frount legs are always bright red! :p
 
I've never tried one but my horses love them! .... They don't have them often as they are more of a treat than an everyday supplement and I know they have a lot of sugar/molasses but that doesn't mean they can't have one occasionally, but then I have been known to eat cakes and give my kids sweets as well ;)
 
Actually, re the molasses content, a little cob I was looking after got hold of one through a fence and it triggered off a lami attack. He was hobbling for a few days and his pulses were really high. That was a pasture lick.
 
I know they're not terribly healthy (understatement of the year lol), just hoping to distract a vet phobic youngster when her jabs are due, and then wondering why she didn't want it - surely all horses would want molasses! Clearly she has very refined tastes unlike some of yours :-) I do hope the other licks taste better or I'm not surprised that she didn't want it lol.
 
I use one for mine that gets separation anxiety - it is great distraction for him and keeps him occupied in the stable whilst I am riding my other horse.

Agree with the comments re the mess and sugar content, but allows me stress free hacking time with my other horse, so invaluable! After all he only gets it for an hour or so a couple of times a week....
