It hasn't rained a vast amount this morning in my area but the rain that we had last night has saturated the paddocks so my las stayed in today rather than have him churn up the pasture.
Mine have been out all night and will stay out regardless. My mare last night un-did the last eight months' worth of healing in her tendon so it's not been without mishap. Wind- and rain-wise, I'm keeping a close eye on the skinny baby and will give them extra Alfa Oil and hay tonight (normally only fed once per day) but Skinny Baby will only be rugged if she gets like she did last time it was bad weather (almost depressed, refusing to eat etc.) The other two (younger baby and my mare) will be fine un-rugged.
I am glad Im not the o
nly one leaving them out. They have a shelter but they are choosing wether to be in it, they all seem quite happy and its bl88dy awful out there!
I left mine loose in the yard with the big stable door open so they can go in if they want. At work all day so couldn't go early even I wanted to. They'll get their tea about 5.30-ish as usual.
Left mine out, he is far happier out and has not either melted or blown away!!!
Also after seeing the horse whose stable has been demolished by a tree.... think he is safer outside as the stables are right on the edge of a wood!!!!
turned out am, but am bringing in now, just hope the stables are still standing and there is something to put them in!!! is it meant to get worse tonight?
Didn't put my lad out as it was chucking it down with rain and quite breezy, however sods law got to work and it brightened up!.
Left work at 1.0opm and the fields were saturated so popped him on the walker for an hour , put him back in the stable for his mid afternoon siesta, and will be up again about 5 to finish him off.
Mine went out this morning about 9, and I went down about 1.30 feeling like a bad mummy to rescue him - he was in the middle of his field scoffing grass completely oblivious to the weather. I was expecting him to be lively to lead in, but he was as good as gold. Three cheers for Rambo Duo!
