Has anyone ever negotiated with an online tack company?

Basically as title says, thinking about it (its a big company) as I want a certain saddle cloth, but cant find any below retail price which is weird as normally there are a few online shops out there...
Any stories on what happened? How did you go about it, and was it a success?
I dont mean in store, nor do I mean small tack shops, I understand they are struggling already

Having owned an online tack shop some products when you buy them you are asked to sell at the recommended retail price for a while. For example if its a known brand but the product is new to the market. You could try and ask especially if your buying a few other things from them.
