Both have limited - just incase that's an issue for you (had a friend at Plumpton and go past Brinsbury on the train)
I would personally choose elsewhere; like anything people have good and bad experiences of colleges and working livery. You've got to be clear in what you want your horse doing and not doing
merrist wood? my partner goes there and speaks incredibly highly of the place.......and if its good enough for the whitakers (sp?) to frequent....but in theory, the idea of working livery - thoughts welcome please. and thank you
Yup, my girl was on loan to Warwickshire College for a year and later on to Brinsbury, again for a year.
Her schooling came on really well and Warwickshire, she'd only been a hack/hunter before that. However she didn't get on with being kept in 24/7 and became pretty miserable in herself so I brought her home.
Brinsbury was great, I was a bit pushed for cash so they used her in the week and I took her for long hacks at the weekend. They did have turn out and it worked out well for me and meant I didn't have to sell my gorgeous girl!
I used to deliver and collect a horse from Plumpton. It was owned by a friend. They looked after the horse very well and they had very nice facilities. The only downside I would imagine, is that they did not want to keep the horse during the holidays, so you had to collect it. I am not sure if you could leave it there, if you were willing to pay.
I used to compete at Brinsbury and had a friend who ran the horse section at one time. They seem to have very high standards too.
Plumpton college is a nice place with good facilities but I have a feeling they have limited turnout. I have pickle on working livery at a RS so feel free to pm me with any questions
