If so, would you recommend it to anyone else? Do they have a decent selection of horses?
I only ask because I rang every riding school in the area yesterday and found them to be the cheapest so I wondered how recommendable they are?

I would say the best riding school in Preston area is Wrea Green. I'm not going to do Fulwood down as I guess they may be suitable for some, PM me if you want my honest opinion.

Is it still even open? I guess so as you've obviously spoken to them. This was my local riding school when I was a kid but I never actually rode there as it never had the best reputation. No idea what it's like these days - there's certainly no hacking out where it is but lessons might be okay. There are some very decent riding schools in the area - Arkenfield is fab, Oakfield in Leyland is also a good place, Becconsall on the way to Southport, Elswick over towards Blackpool. All three I have experience of and can recommend.

Not sure how recently g_g has been to Elswick but it changed ownership a couple of years ago. Again, not one I would particularly recommend now.

I worked there under Lindsay and Stuart's ownership. It's changed hands a couple of times since. I actually went up there about three weeks ago to check it out for possible livery for someone. It looked okay on the livery side and the riding school horses all looked happy and healthy. Would be interested to know why you wouldn't recommend it - probably better to PM me than to say in public.
