Has anyone ever seen this before?

I have a maiden mare that at the beginning of the week had a small white spot on her udder. Not the teat, but the udder itself just on one side. When I touched it it began to drain yellow-ish clear fluid and has not stopped. Contacted two different repro vets and both had never seen but said it might be edema fluid that is draining through the whole ? The mare is at day 342 6C2A7813-37C4-4652-83F0-F8EE169A8602.jpegand I don’t know how to stop the drainage or if I even should. I tried a patch, liquid bandaid, and super clue as recommended by the vet. I worry about mastitis if I close it and bad milk production if I don’t. I’m at a loss here. It drains continually and the whole is about as big as the end of a pencil . It’s so small you can barely see it. When you do see it, it’s an incredibly small white dot that is draining quite a good amount of “serum” as the vet called it. Anyone have advice or suggestions ?

I am no vet but I would make sure you keep some sort of fly cream a gentle one that repels and heals as you do not want fly's around her udder. Hope it heals up and stops weeping soon.

I would collect a sample and ask them to send it to a path lab. It looks viscous like serous fluid, so it could be a localised reaction to a bite. I would be comparing each udder to see if there is heat or swelling. It needs watching in case she gets mastitis and her udder gets too painful for the foal to suck.
