sorry to drag up an old thread, but what did you find worked for her in the end? lily is also downhill with a forward girth groove🤦🏼‍♀️

I use a Kentaur anatomical leather girth on my downhill forward girth groove croup high Arab, he has a Lavinia Mitchell Dressage saddle with a nuumed shim numnah it works well for him.

I think saddle fitting tricky shaped horses is a never ending journey as they develop muscle and change weight over the seasons !

I have found an older Albion k2 that sits still on him (no rubbing) and gives me no pain. I have an anatomical girth and prolite (the three section one) with home made thicker foam pads in the front only and the saddler put point straps on it for me.

My plan is to do 2-3 months in this to really build his strength and then see if I can fiddle to remove pads / flock the saddle to shape - there is no point doing that now because he's changing so much even with a little consistent work.

A brief update for all those kind enough to take the time with suggestions. He had the physio last week who was struck by the difference that 4-5 weeks of 30 min hacking up hills x 4 /5 a week had made.

For all those struggling, I hope this provides motivation to keep going and keep being creative in idead. He's come up in front, changed shape quite a lot (hence more saddle fiddling) but now can actually start his journey into work.
