Lost their horse's passport?

Not sure this is in the right place but competition people always have to send their passports off for various reasons!

I sent mine to the BSJA on the 11th and they've not received it yet!! I am currently in a major panic as I'm not sure what to do. I can get a replacement from the Appy society but it had all his vaccinations etc in, will he have to be completely re-done?

Why, why why did I not send it recorded post???! I can't report it lost until approx 3 yrs have past as apparently that's how long it takes 1st class post...aargh, Help!

bear in mind that a LOT of post is still backed up in storage warehouses, after the strike. it'll take at least a week or two to get everything through. i honestly wouldn't be panicking yet. (sharer's a postie and tells me stuff!)
i'm waiting for 3 packages, all about 3 weeks overdue...

I sent Spiders to the BSJA last week and received it back today - I sent it special delivery so it got there quick and wasnt lost.

Did you send it SD or RD or just 1st class?

Annoying this is theres no real trace for 1st class

hope it turns up soon

It could be to do with the postal strike so don't panic too much. Lots of things are still filtering through very very late! Talk to the passport issuing authority as they must have some procedure in place for this. If you are lucky your vet may have a record of his vaccinations (depends how long you have had your horse & if you always use the same vets) and be able to stamp up the passport.

Just 1st class...I know, I know it was stupid but the queue was 40 miles long, I only had a 20 min lunch break etc...

I was put in the post box inside the main post box in Birmingham... how can they have lost it!!!!

but did you put a cheque for the return in it?
If you did then thats as good as recorded delivery. If they cash the cheque you know they did recieve it.

Yes, Our Horses BSJA passport got lost last week. We applied for a new one from the BSJA for £10 and the vet is rewriting all his vacinations in it for us as we've always been at the same practice.

Whereabouts are you going to go jumping?

No, did my membership by fax and used card details. It's the Royal Mail that will have lost it. Not too worried about getting passport replaced although it is a pain - more the vaccination side of it.

Phoned BSJA who were sympathetic and said to try calling them again next week. I am such an idiot, I have never lost anything in the post before. Even my prize money (in cash and coins!) arrived from show centre in tact!

I have just started going to Summerhouse as I now live in Glos.

Good pony was sixth in BN in first outing so going again on Monday. I want his double clears but then I'd need to find someone to ride him in the 2nd round as it is too big!!
