Has anyone fed either micronized linseed or sugar beet pulp or olive oil and had a horse to go crazy?

No, not affected mine and he's on both micronised linseed and speedibeet. However he does go a bit jumpy at this time of year.

I think one of mine went silly on linseed
Or rather - he was having linseed and was silly, I stopped the linseed and the silliness stopped.
It may have been a coincidence but I've read similar stories elsewhere

Yes, one of mine, an appaloosa cross, can't tolerate alfalfa or linseed. His eyes go really weird when he's on it, as if he's off his head on speed. His behaviour is very over reactive. Quite small quantities will do it.

I recently stopped feeding micronised linseed and my youngster is much less spooky. I don't know whether it's the natural increase in confidence from being out and about more, or the stopping the linseed.
Suppose I will have to reintroduce it to find out...

I've been using olive oil for years. Olive oil is expensive in the UK but it is very popular and accessible in Mediterranean countries. I know that very large breeding studs also use olive oil and I have never heard of such an effect.
