As above, Who with and how did you enjoy it. and was it very expensive?

Im looking for a birthday treat for my daughter (dependant on cost).

Anyone know who are in the south east?

thanks in advance xx

quite frequently with Tina Cook when she was Tina Gifford.. also Frances Hooper & Tracey Priest- all three were brilliant tho Tina was my favourite. Prices will obviously have changed by now but every penny was well spent and very enjoyable lessons which improved both me & my horses, what I mean is the way she taught me suited me & horses and the results were easily achieved, easily understood and taught solidly so I'll never forget them..would highly recommend all the above, but if you can, try get Tina. Oh and be prepared to be exhausted beyond belief!:D I was so tired after one lesson that I actually cried!but in a good way!

Can recommend:

Emily Baldwin, http://www.emilybaldwineventing.com/
Based near Tunbridge Wells
Knows her stuff, very thorough, particularly good in improving the dressage phase. Not at all gushy though, so wouldn't suit those who need their ego polishing!

Francis Whittington, http://www.whittingtoneventing.co.uk/
Rotherfield, East Sussex
Great for technical jumping and XC, but again very to the point and tells it how it is!

Lucy Thompson, http://www.lucy-thompson.co.uk/
Particularly good for XC and great for teenagers - makes it fun, but also challenges them and gives them lots of food for thought.

thanks so far will have a look.

Anyone done a SJ lesson? - Heard Guy Williams is in Canterbury and Robert Whitaker is also based in Kent somewhere.

thanks again

Used to have SJ lessons with Lucy Thompson, would def recommend. Very good with young horses and new partnerships too.

Hi, you could try Mark Corbett in Tadley/Basingstoke for both SJ and xc. He teaches at home, Rawlins Farm, or will travel to you. He has regular clinics at Parwood in Normandy, Nr Guildford.

Mark is the South East BE under 18 coach and has a lot of experience.

Have fun! :D

You can look on the BE website for accredited coaches - but I can highly reccommend Sally Thurloway at Forest Farm, Colgate. She has a nice XC course on site, or she can come to you. She is also an accredited BS coach and does a lot with the local pony clubs - so a great teacher for all levels.

Does it have to be someone currently on the circuit? I have lessons with an ex eventer/sj'er in south east and he is very knowledgable and reasonable?

Hi, without sounding fical yes. Only because its a treat / one-off.

thanks

Another vote for Lucy Thompson, but my fave trainer is Nick Gauntlett - he's doing quite a few clinics in the SE at the moment. Awesome instructor and all round nice bloke :)

Get in touch with Ian Bareham at golden cross. Nick Turner who is the irish coach does lessons there every month, also could recommend Francis whittington as well as use them both regularly!
