Unfortunately I've been struck down with the dreaded lurgy all over this Christmas. All the horrid symptoms you can think of: non stop sneezing, hacking cough, the runniest and sorest of noses, aching limbs etc etc. Just about managing to muck out my horse, free school him and then crawl back to bed with night nurse tablets. Anyway, today was just the same but as I have a lesson tomorrow, I thought I had better get on and ride. Well within no more than a couple of minutes of getting on him, a miracle happened. My nose stopped running and I could actually breathe properly! I rode for about half an hour and during the session I truly did feel amazing. No sneezing or shortness of breath and no need for tissues. Has anyone else had this experience?
Should the NHS replace the flu jab with riding a horse??
