She’s huge. Also has many many sponsors! She also promotes for the Brooke charity I believe

Being a youtuber has been a viable career for a small number of people for a long time now. The problem is a) getting the following in the first place, and b) the fact that youtube can "demonetise" your videos or channel at any time for seemingly any reason- meaning your income can be shut off very quickly. A few youtubers I have watched in the past have had this happen to them- it wasn't their only source of income so they survived financially, but if it was your main/only income I can imagine that would be devastating.

I also think that making it big takes many years, a lot of hard work and a fair amount of luck!

There are some great smaller horse-y youtubers out there as well who I enjoy watching.

I’ve heard of her and randomly had her suggested on YouTube before, but can’t say I watch her!
However I do remember the ‘old’ days of horse YouTube- where everyone made 2 minute videos on windows movie maker with lots of flashing effects and ‘remixed’ music. It certainly wasn’t professional and nobody made money out of it but I used to love watching everyone’s ‘journey’ with their horses. Still have lots of those people on social media now! (This was about 10,12 years ago!) Interesting how YouTube is now seen as an actual career option! (I’m not necessarily knocking it, just interesting to see how much it’s changed!)

It’s kind of odd someone would get very famous for just making barn vlogs. I know I probably shouldn’t be saying this but it wondered if she bought views to get her channel popular at the start because she kind of randomly blow up.

These things normally show exponential growth at a certain point. A small uptick in views changes the algorithm and youtube will show your video to more people as a suggested video in the sidebar and then that leads to a greater increase in views which changes the algorithm again and so on and so forth. Her LeMieux sponsorship seems to have had a massive effect as well which is understandable imo.

Even if she did buy views, I don't think it matters. You can buy views all you like but if you don't produce the content to keep people subscribed it won't do you a bit of good.

Used to love watching all those short videos about "5 years with my heart horse" or "the horse who couldn't jump", some of the cinematography was very good too! Shame that now most horsey youtubers only upload 10min+ vlogs, but I guess that's what the algorithm prefers.

She tapped into a very lucrative market - pony-mad girls of that age! I think she is cool and a good example to 'follow' in most kids' dreams (including mine, once upon a time) as she is very fortunate. Her content is watchable, albeit necessarily commercial now. Good for her. It'll be interesting to see where it leads as she's out of ponies now, surely?

Can I ask, what’s the point of subscribing, when you can see there videos anyway, I don’t subscribe to anyone and I get there videos suggested to me everyday to watch ?

Your own convenience? You have a nice little list of all the channels you like and an indicator of if they've posted something new. My suggestions can be a bit loopy from watching random bird videos or tech stuff people send me so I appreciate my curated list!

If you do genuinely like a channels content it helps them out with sponsorship, advertising and just generally making money off what they do so I think it's just polite.

I've blocked all 'suggestions' on youtube as they were driving me crazy. I tried clicking the 'not interested' thing and they kept suggesting crazier stuff. After being suggested some anti vaxxer stuff - having never watched anything related to that - I'd had enough. So now I have a lovely blank page with a search box. :)

which one? Mickey?!
Yes, the little cremello.
such a cheeky little beast . When we first got him, he had to go to pony club camp a week later as other pony was lame. The first few days he was so insecure I had to send in a grazing muzzle for my son to put on him while grooming as he was ripping holes out of his shirt, by day three he had settled and they won a lovely trophy at the end for best partnership .

Is she not featured now in pony mag? If so she will get a huge following from that.

My step daughter is obsessed, but she seems a nice kid and what I've seen of her videos I'm more than happy if that's who my SD wants as a role model

she seems nice enough but does play up to the camera a bit, and can be over the top. there is also her constant strive for perfectionism which is unrealistic, can be problematic too to an impressionable audience ie when she's opened her tackroom door and then closed it immediately saying its such a mess but is in fact normal

other than that she's a good role model for kids ultimately

she's not daft though, she makes a hell of a lot of money from youtube alone- not to mention all the sponsorships etc
