Has anyone ordered from Old Mill since Brexit?

Normally I’d email them but the item I want is limited edition and only one left in stock!

Their website says that any address in the UK will have VAT removed from the price at checkout, and then the buyer will have to pay VAT via customs. This would be fine, but the thing I’m trying to buy isn’t having the VAT removed at the payment stage. If they’re keeping the price the same as it was with VAT then I don’t want it (because paying an extra 20% on top is not happening).

Has anyone ordered from them since Brexit? Did you pay VAT to Old Mill or to customs?

I bought off them 24th January and didn’t pay anything separately to customs. VAT seemed included.

Huh, I see they are in NI. What confused me was:
”Orders being delivered outside of the EU (including Channel Islands) will automatically have the VAT deducted at checkout once the delivery address is entered. Please note horse supplements, childrens’ clothing and books do not have VAT.”

As the UK is now outside the EU I assumed this covered us and that Old Mill was in Ireland, not NI.
I ordered the helmet and they charged me VAT on the invoice so we’ll see!

Is it a new message about VAT? I wonder if it’s left over from pre-brexit and the message was from the point of view that NI was in the EU at that time and that sales to, say, USA would have the VAT deducted at checkout.
