I have got a three year old warmblood youngster and these bumps have come up on his leg. He has had him for a while now. I did have both his hocks x-rayed in Febuary and nothing really was found that explains any swelling there. I did have him x-rayed for another reason, suspected OCD but nothing was found. I did ask the vet and she said to see if it will settle down as he has grown a lot over the last year. She was at a loss and said the swelling/bump is in a strange place. The bump is soft to touch and there is no heat. He is also not lame.

I have enclosed a picture. Does anyone think I should have the vet out to scan tendon sheat/bump? Or what is the best course of action? Also has anyone ever seen this before?

I've seen it a few times and always assumed it was a bog spavin. I know they are generally higher up & on the front of the joint but presumably the bursa will bulge wherever there is a weakness/strain.
I've seen a v well thought of stallion with these on both hind legs and he stayed sound and won showing till a ripe old age.
