Nothing of help really but we had a Shetland go awol for 3 weeks! Must have been hiding in woods and hedges as we did searches every day. Someone had her turn up in the garden and had seen the missing posters so knew who to call. This was many years ago, pre chips and internet. So you never know...I hope she turns up soon.

I have emailed farriers and the vets in the link you gave only deal with small animals, e..g cats dogs etc

If you go back to the find a vet page and scroll down under specialist and advanced practitioner it will give you a list of equine vets only, I found scrolling through advanced practitioner the best, the equine practice under advanced practitioner would probably be the best one for you

I haven't read all the pages on this thread so this may have already been suggested - Have you tried putting a smallish (A4 type) poster with her photo, details, and your contact details on it in all the shop windows that accept ads (or any that allow posters in their windows?). Offer a reward.
Put the posters up in more than one village/town too. Cover as many areas as possible.

Eg: Post Offices, Supermarket ad boards, Newagents, Tack shops, Feed Merchants, the bakery/cake shop, even the Vets... anywhere where people go, horsey or not.

Also:

Post the posters through letterboxes.
Put the poster as an advert into local papers and the free newspapers.

Hope you find her soon.

Edited to say, sorry, not a nice edit but contact the abbatoirs, explain the situation and make them aware, give her i.d. info so they can be on the lookout too.
And you might want to telephone horse dealers too and see if they have anything that matches her description (you don't have to say you have one missing, just that you are looking for a....'insert type/decription').

The only other thing I can think of is to drive around farms or other landowners, knocking on the doors of the owners houses explaining the situation, and handing them a poster, asking them to please keep a lookout in case she is grazing (happily probably) on their land or in their woods etc etc. Ask them to tell thier family, friends and neghbours to keep a look out too.

(Some years ago my mare and the other horses at her livery yard did a runner from a huge fire there. It took a few days to find her, she was very well, and grazing happily unnoticed in with a bunch of other horses in the grounds of the local big manor house).

My best wishes for you, hope you find her soon.

We have been to farms riding schools etc to hand posters over. we've searched all the fields within the area theres no sign of her if she has been stolen then who ever has her isn't going to be daft enough to let her out in a field are they when there are posters everywhere.

Everywhere has been searched running out of places to look now to be honest. Its been nearly a month now and the only sighting of her was 15th last month nothing since then which makes me believe someone has her and they are keeping her locked away. x

I'm just trying to pop a few ideas out to help. If someone does have her, lets hope they are daft enough to get complacent.
Apart from keeping the posters up long term and casting the net wider I can't think of anything else. But if I do I will certainly post on this thread.
Good luck with your search.

My friend had several minis stolen. 2 were found grazing in the middle of a field, so actually, yes someone might have her somewhere. There is also the possibility that she rolled up at someones yard/field etc and they assumed she had been dumped and took her on. Not right, but people do do things like that

Get out in the car and drive round. Knock on doors, talk to people. Postmen are good as they are walking/driving about a lot. But anyone who will listen. Take thousands of flyers and get other people to give them out. Tack shops, pet shops, supermarkets. Anywhere that people go.

And it cannot be posted everywhere on line as this is the only place I have seen it. Is there a FB page and has it been posted to all the groups everyday? My friend got hers back by making them too hot to handle. She went on the radio, did a TV interview, hassled the police non stop, and she drove round and round and round and round talking to people and handing out flyers. Thats what you need to be doing

I havent seen it and I've just asked some horsey people I know and they havent seen it either, so whatever you are doing there isnt working.
It needs to be everyday. There needs to be a page. It needs to be shared by people, and kept bumped up.

This isnt the right section of the forum either. Can you repost with a different heading?

Just driving round isnt enough. She needs to be talking to people and knocking on doors. How does a horse just disappear like that from a residential area? I cant see how or why anyone has taken this horse in and hidden it. How on earth do you hide a horse anyway? It would have to be somewhere off the beaten track, so those are the places she needs to go.

We have kept it posted and bumped on social media etc. we are out everyday and searching at night too!! I have posted it in the stolen forum on here too and to be honest i thought it would be as people are commenting! A horse can dissappear if someone has her and there not wanting to give her back and keeping her locked away somewhere thats what some people are like and you can hide a horse in a shed cant just go into people back gardens and check there shed can i?? we have checked everywhere knocked on door spoke to people in the street and no one is giving anything off so what else are we supposed to do we are tracking a women who was seen leading a pony the same day she went missing so just waiting for info on that. We are doing everything we can possibly do everyone in that area riding schools, liveries, farriers, vets, farm shops local shops supermarkets the posters are everywhere shes in newspapers all over social media other horsey sites just nothing who ever has her are not wanting to come forward even though there is a reward for her safe return x

She really isnt all over social media. I havent seen it, nor have several people I asked, so where ever it is, its not getting to people. Where is the facebook link?

The dogs lost one is incredibly confusing. Is she stolen or missing? It says she was seen with a woman, but you say woman leading a generic horse. The photos are terrible as well, the one on here is better.

And yes you could keep a pony in a shed, but it would need hay taking in and droppings taking out. They dont just disappear in a puff of smoke and why would anyone go to all this trouble for a pony that while shes lovely, is worthless in monetary terms.

Have you spoken to the police officer who does the traveller liaison stuff? Have you checked ditches and similar places?

Im not daft i know alot about horses!! she went out as missing because she escaped but has the weeks past the police upped her to stolen yes she was seen with a women if you read the evening news post you will see! yes you can keep a pony in a shed not hard to keep them in during the day then when its dark let them out i know they dont just disappear why do you think the police have upped her to stolen!! she isnt worthless at all ponies sell for quite a lot of money depending on the breed etc if gypsies have her then they will breed her but all sites have been checked and nothing we have spoken to the police liasion officers and nothing has been picked up as strays etc!!!!
