Has anyone sold a trailer on eBay

Sold and bought trailers off ebay, very easy to sell, no probs, went straight away, plus got full amount of money wanted for it.

Not sold one but I did buy one. The seller put loads of piccies on - both inside and out - plus they pulled up the rubber and took pics of that. They were more than happy to answer questions. They put all the relevant measurements on and included any relevant paperwork in the ad i.e when serviced and work done. Once I won the auction we arranged to meet half way on the delivery. :)

We bought one, looked fab for money, dad went to pick it up and took one look and left with no trailer. It had holes everywhere filled with tar, floor was rotten they just covered it up with rubber mats and somehow taken out if the photos. Never buying trailers off eBay or Internet again.

and was it straightforward? Would it be better to go to a dealership and ask them to sell it for me or buy it off me?
Yes very pleased, sold a batson a couple of years ago.. as others have said be as honest as possible, good pics not some crappy mobile ones and a acurate description .... I have my lorry on at the moment and its getting quite bit of interest... good luck...

wonder if we bought the same trailer?!

only trouble was I sent my not horsey ex to pick it up, he didnt even look in the back just hitched it up and towed it home - what an absolute crock!! and guess what sellers disappeared off the face of the earth after I tried to open a dispute

I ended up manaaging to sell it on as a 'do up' project to a local farmer, but still lost 500 in the process, and that was cutting my losses, to put it right myself the best quote was £2500!!!!

never ever ever again!!

Was it dark green in Shropshire area?! :(

I have sold two. They were both old Rice Trailers and I was very honest and up front. Sold one for over £900 and the other for £600, I was happy with both prices reached and both transactions were hassle free.

Ive bought one and sold two. Didnt have a problem with any, although the one who bought my Richardson which was 4 yrs old and immaculate, started trying to pull it to pieces :(. I stood my ground and he took it. There was nothing wrong with it. His wife later phoned me to say how thrilled she was with it. I reckon he was trying it on to get some money off.

I took loads of pics and said I could email more if needed.

I bought my trailer off Ebay. There were loads of pictures and the seller answered all questions before I bid. I knew exactly what I was bidding on - it was a lovely trailer.

I paid cash so that he didn't have to suffer PayPal fees, also for seller protection cash is best. If you accept Paypal you have to be able to prove you have 'sent' the item and a signed receipt is not acceptable in the case of a dispute. You could end up with the payment being returned to the buyer if they claim they have not received the trailer - so you end up with no trailer and no money.

Hope that makes sense.

The only problem with ebay is the paypal fees! I advertised mine on the Pony Club website and sold it bery quickly and easily and it cost less to advertise too than paypal costs!

I sold mine on e-bay, was really easy, took lots of photos and described it exactly as it was..
got what i wanted for it and was sold early before auction had finished.
was an easy sell and everyone was happy:D

not sold, but looking to buy from there.

take lots of pictures, and - clean it before you take pictures, you will get a better price if it looks taken care of! (i.e. not full of old leaves/ piles of poo/ grass growing round the tyres!!!) :) sounds obvious, and i know we are horsey people, so used to mud! but it does surprise me that state of some of the photos..
