Has anyone taken off their rugs yet ?????

B went out yesterday naked, but she wears a squished HW at night still, as she still needs to pick up weight and it's been blinkin' cold at night recently!! I know, as I am up and about all night - thank god for thermals!!! She's got her LW on today, as the wind is pretty strong and cold and she was tucked up this am!

Yep! All horses here; WB's, TB's, QH's, Appaloosa's, Standardbreds and Paints ALL have their rugs off today and they are now stored away and will not be coming back out again until they go off to be washed and repaired for next winter.

Better not send them off just yet - you know the snow will return if you do...

Sooty I am shocked by you once again.

Lucky girl
Had to go back & re-read the post, how funny is that!

Ours live out 24/7 so have now reached the umming and aahing stage of when to take them off...problem is it's not practical with 18 horses to taken themon and off morning and night so once they come off that's it - they're off for the summer...Think I'll give it another couple of days yet....

unless it gets wet again - ours are back out 24/7 and ponies are unrugged during the day, They are made up about it, especially the white pony

( we have some wallowing holes & he feels it's his duty to keep them ship shape & in full use)

Yes. And boy did I wish I hadn't. My three came in absolutely caked in mud. Fields are still really wet up here (North East) but it was so warm yesterday I couldn't resist it.
