As title really? the fields here are dry enough now and the grass is coming through but we still feed hay in the field. Would you turn them out or wait for the grass to grow a bit more? We have to use the same field summer and winter so will tape some off in a week or two to alternate grazing throughout the summer.

Mine are out, as of three days ago. Horse is rugged at night and they have ad lib hay, and a field shelter, so they're hardly slumming it!
No mucking out - hooray

the thought of no more mucking out is very tempting but am worried about there not being enough grass at the moment?

Yes, everthing that was in has been out for a week now. All moved on to new grazing - the winter TO fields being rested now until September.

Mine aren't as YO won't allow it, although ground is very dry and plenty of grass!
Many of my friends with their own places have started turing out 24/7 from about 4/5days ago. I would i f I could!!

I'd be happy with just being able to turn Georgie out for a few hours at the moment. I feel so mean - all this glorious weather and the poor lad is stuck on box rest.

Mine have all been out for weeks now. I've not got any grass though, so they are having haylage put out at night time. It's so nice to not have to muck out, go on go for it - you know ya wanna lol!!!!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoyed them out on Saturday and thats it! Guess it was about time as Asti had started dragging me out of the door on a morning and Byter was refusing to be caught on a night.

Spotty is rugless still, TB has MW on a night and LW during day, Asti has LW + cooler on a night and LW during the day, and we're taking turns changing rugs so I got to stay in bed til 7.30 this morning...

Bliss!!!!!!

My girl is out 24/7 but has been out through the winter too. Its her first winter out and she has really enjoyed it, she is far happier. She is naked during the day and has a m/w on at night. The grass is not through properly yet so she is still having hay twice a day.

went out naked yeasterday in the day for the 1st time and later on wanted him to have a bit ore time out but ended up leaving him out all night with MW although he will probably be in tonight.
After a winter where he was in 24/7 months on end he is very happy now!

No, mine is stabled all year. If it is in the middle of summer then she stays out till about 8pm, but we compete and she gets a belly on her if out 24/7

She has the next night after a show out as she has all day off after a show, and then left out slumming it.
