Has anyone used Equestrian Support breakdown?

I joined at the begining of this month.

Its only £45 for year and its brilliant cover. Not had to call them out yet (fingers crossed, never will have to) but defo worth it for peace of mind.

We are currently with the AA so don't qualify as not a member of the RAC. But will look to join something like this as soon as up for renewal.

Are there any others where it isn't dependent on being a member of any particular breakdown organisation do you know?

Im sure you can get some sort of break down cover with your insurance company. Im with Stoneways and they offered me some thing when I joined, but I didnt take it.
Prob different with different companies though.
But I jonied the RAC and its only about a tenner a month and Ive got a really high level of cover.

Yes, I'm certain that is who I'm with and they are fantastic.
Wouldn't use anyone else now. First time I managed to blow two back tyres but only had one spare so they arranged another and kept in good contact as we were waiting a while. Second time wagon wouldn't start and mechanic they sent couldn't get it going either. They arranged transport for three horses to get us back home and wagon was towed to a garage of my choice the next day. Excellent

I too am with KBIS and if i wanted breakdown with my INS it would of been an extra £80 a year so opted not too, would love to hear more about this comany as i too am needing breakdown just not willing to pay £80 a year!

Yes, but not directly. I have breakdown cover with NFU insurance who must have some contract with ESS as when I've broken down I've had a call from Mechanic type company and then a separate call from ESS to organise getting the horse(s) home too. Thankfully mechanic man got us going again, so didn't need to get ESS out for the horses in the end, but they were very helpful over the phone and kept checking to make sure we were OK.

Yes, I'm insurred with them. It costs me just over £100 for cover with HomeStart. I added Homestart when they agreed to come and rescue me when my box wouldn't start and I'd just loaded my mare to go to a much looked forward to lesson! It was a flat battery that wouldn't respond to jump leads! I now have a new battery so have consider not including HomeStart next year, but when you think of what it would cost to get someone out from a garage. An extra £50 per year is a fraction of it, so I might keep it. They were very good and professional. Even rang once I once on the road to see that it was still running smoothly.

Good peace of mind for me
