Has anyone used Mickey Gavin or Guy Robertson for backing?

I have a 3 yo who I might send away for backing. I've heard good things about both, but wanted to canvass opinion more widely. Horse seems straight forward enough so far. Calm, willing, kind. Want to keep him that way!

I've not used them but used to know a girl who worked for them who really rated them.

I think one of the Diamonds in the Rough gals (Fran?!) uses Mickey for lessons. Maybe ask her?

Yes Used Mickey for all sorts including backing. He was very good with a horse I'd bought from a deadend market, so probably a reback of a horse with issues. He's all for the horse but isn't wishywashy.

PrincessSparkle also sent her youngster to Alan Payne (Payne Performanve Horses) to be started. Might be another to consider if you're in a similar area.

Liz Pears near Louth cannot reccomend her highly enough , backed two of ours. One having spent 6 weeks at one of the above mentioned trainers and came back far from being rideable .
