Has anyone used the Decathlon/Fouganza drying rug?

I've been eyeing up the rambo dry rug for some time when I stumbled across the decathlon version. Now granted it doesn't have belly straps but for £20 can you really go wrong?

So has anyone bought one of these? Are they any good or should I just stump up the money for the rambo one?

Thanks in advance guys!

I've got two Rambos and i would say try that one lol. The second is a replacement as the clips on the first rusted within months. They told me to avoid moisture and salt as the clips are coated not steel...

Oh dear, that bad? Actually LOL'd at the "avoid moisture" comment.

that is bizarre how can you avoid moisture when it's a drying rug and used on an animal that lives outside

Yes the email reads like I'm the idiot as well lol. I pointed out that it's used on a horse when wet, quite likely with sweat. They did send me another rug FOC but the same will happen. Then the buckles leave rust on the towelling fabric. It also collects hay like mad. They are lovely when new but if the fouganza one is the same material I can't imagine it being much different except cost!

Yes I bought 2 last year and I can't understand why anyone would pay more than that for what is basically a bit of microfibre cloth! I really like the Decathlon rugs I have had (stable rugs & fleece sheets) and these are no exception. I have 4 greys so am always washing before going anywhere so just fling one of these on as they are also light enough for travelling in. Have also used successfully under thermatex type rugs coming back from hunting. They also now do a version with a neck. I can't really answer the sizing question as I don't mind if these are a bit large or small, but I have 4 connies from 14.1 - 15.2 that can all use the same size, and a 17.2 that wears a bigger one (which I have also draped round the 15.2 if required). I have never found the lack of belly straps a problem, because if I need it to stay put I just put something else on top - or I suppose I could dig an elasticated surcingle/roller out of the depths of my tack room!
