I am using Vulketan (on my vet's advice) to manage a wound that has got a really horrible amount of proud flesh. The proud flesh is a thick horizontal band around the front of a pastern, the band is around 6 inches long, about two inches wide and an inch high. The Vulketan turned the whole lot black, and formed a hard scab and now it seems to be peeling off a layer at a time. Each time part of a layer rubs off, it exposes pink/red very vascular flesh which I then put more Vulketan on and wait for it to from the hard scab again.
I have never used Vulketan before, is this how it normally goes?
