Has anyone worked abroad?

I did summer camp with BUNAC if that counts?! Did it for 2 summers and travelled for a few weeks after. Loved every second of it! First year there I taught horse riding and second year I was in charge of the whole of horseback. Brilliant experience, lots of good memories.

That sounds great! Can i ask what the initial costs were?

It didn't cost much - if I remember rightly the first time I went BUNAC took my wages to pay for the flight etc, second time you fund it yourself and you keep the wages. It was quite a few years ago though so you will have to check the website. When I came back the first time I couldn't wait to get back there the following summer. Traveling was great, a few of us got together and bought a cheap car - we would literally look at the map each morning and decide where to drive to next. Total freedom!

Come to NZ :)

I worked over your way Ireland, UK and Germany not always in Equine jobs but it was a brillant experience I learnt a lot and improved my resume.

I second New Zealand.

I worked on an Endurance yard there for 6 months. Was great fun and I learnt a lot and I met loads of awesome people :)

I work in Italy over the summer. It is amazing!

I found the job on here though and fell into it really though, so I can't really help with advice on how to find the jobs.

If you are looking for horse work abroad then the Career Grooms or Yardandgroom websites are very good places to start. They have a wide variety of positions (especially yardandgroom) so plenty of choice.

I worked away for 7years or so, had some great times and learnt loads:)
