Hi,
Is it worth going too? They only have a drawn picture of 1 jump so nothing to go on!!!!
Its at least an hour from me so dont want to go if its not really nice or if the ground is not good (as hoss is just getting back into it after big injury)
Has anayone been? Theres other places to go too so doesnt really matter.
Should say he's up for jumping anything 2'6''-3'3''ish for the mo.
Thanks

i have been to hunter trials at pachesham, they have a range of jumps at diff sizes as they have mini pony heights up to open. at the moment ground its probably fine but i think it does get hard there in the summer. it is quite a spread out course, and horses go out in the fields and they open it up for shows, so if you went xc schooling i dont know how much is open. i live local to there, i personally prefer coombelands, stilemans, tweseldown or east byshee for schooling but do go to a lot of shows at pachesham. where are you based?

I live about 15 mins away so we go quite often. That said it isn't my favourite locally. The course is quite short, but there are height options. Different bits of the course are open at different times depending on where horses are grazing - but if you go an a schooling day (rather than just ringing up as we tend to) then most should be open. You only get one go round though. As a competition venue it is good and their eventer's challenge / ODEs are expensive - but worthwhile. (Their SJ ring is great too)

Depending on what you want from an XC course you might want to think about Woolgars (team chasing site - long gallops) Rogate (my personal favourite) or Coombelands (no mini mini jumps but good gallops.)

We did the HOYS qualifiers there on Sunday and the ground was like rock. This was in the main field where there are quite a few cross country fences. There may be other parts of the course where the going is better.

Im near Wellington Riding (about 15 mins from Reading)
Rogate is on my list of places to go as is Tweseldown.
Ill look on youtube and at the other places too.
Maybe ill only go to pachesham if its been raining before as cant jump on hard ground.
Thanks everyone x
