Just got back from EE and was hoping that the other news on the ee was wrong but now it's not. RIP cavvy and all my thoughts are with mary and all her connections xxxxx

Llewelyn's thread is nine pages long!
I'm glad not to have to sieve through it, personally, so thanks for the new thread.

RIP Cavvy.

Is there official conformation anywhere?? It's that all I can find is this, which says horse and rider were fine.

'More than half of the field of 19 were eliminated on the showjumping and cross-country courses, designed by Pierre Michelet. The scalps included New Zealand's Mark Todd, whose mount Gandalf demolished a cross-country fence that could not be rebuilt. Others to be eliminated included Olympic silver medalist Tina Cook and Miner's Frolic, and fellow Olympian Mary King, who had a heavy fall from Call Again Cavalier. Horse and rider are both fine.'

Its terrible, I've only just found out, I wasnt keeping up to date with the results, and i cant believe this has happened. RIP Cavvy. But, I agree with lythinae who said that she only found the link saying that horse and rider are both fine, but im sure that with a broken leg, he would have had to be put down. They maybe didn't want to broadcast it yet. Im not sure though.

there isn't even any British confirmation of who won yet so they're probably trying to write a very carefully worded press release given how much newspaper coverage EE has had over the past couple of months.

yes it has been confimed now RIP cavvy
i know the owners of the horse as i spent a week at the yard they own that is run by billy twomey
can't imagine what they must be feeling right now
