Well i went down the yard tonight with the plan to ride, needless to say i didnt feel like it when i got there.
Walked onto the yard to find the YO buzzing around like a headless chicken, we were told not to go into the back fields.
The vet was here and the tractor was turned on... a fellow livery (he is only 14, poor lad) was on their way down, his horse was found in the field with two broken hind legs due to a freak accident.
It had gotten its legs caught in the surcingles of its rugs
The horse was in the prime of its life, perfect for its jockey and totally loved yet not it is no more
I was fine at first, then i walked onto the other yard and faced the other livery's. i was soon in tears. it was all a little too close to home as my own horse was pts in november due to blowing her hind achillies tendon.
So i have had a bloody terrible night, however my feelings lay with the poor horses owner
