We use the Fieldguard stakes and they give a height of about 1.2m once pushed into the ground. That wouldn’t have stopped my old SJ mare but it would have given her pause for thought, as it is more effort than jumping 90cm or so. Sadly we couldn’t ever keep her confined in a small paddock when she injured herself as she would jump out of anything you could possibly devise!

Long-term, best solution I found was a good ‘best friend’ who showed no interest in jumping out with her. Then she stayed put because she wanted to!

I have heard of people lashing a smaller stake to a taller one of the normal plastic electric fence posts with some success.

I feel your pain though - I have a 10hh yearling who can jump over 90cm already. She fence hops like a trooper and we have had to put an extra line of electric up at the top of our 1.2m high stakes. No idea what I will do in a couple of years when she can jump higher!
