I am completely crap on the computer so don't know how to get this page up for you so you'll have to type in www.weeklygripe.co.uk/a52.asp. Think this may upset a few people, or you may even agree. Love to hear your views!!! Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger!

Type horse in the search box - it's the 2nd one down ( I think!!!)

I would suggest the author slows down around blind bends. What if it were a child/cyclist/rider around one of these bends? If he cannot stop/avoid a bit of horse poo how can he avoid one of those?

And if his friend drove close enough to be hit by a whip, he/she was far too close.

I must remember to take a poo bag with me when i ride !! its a country road ...... what about dead and splattered animals on the road is that dangerous (sp) what ever next

I think people like this think we can control where and when our horses go, and they have no idea that the majority of us do have insurance and public liability insurance - arrgggh.

*sniggers*

as long as they dont eat it in large quantities they'll be fine

and yep am guilty of whacking cars or motor cyclists

I feel that in some ways the man actually does have a point. However, he does not see the practical difficulties behind having to pick up horse poo on the roads - carry a shoval on your saddle......??!! My partner used to own a bike and pointed out how slippery poo is on the road so if my horse poo's on the road near my horse I do kick it off. But it is stupid to expect everyone to be able to do this and if I am out for a hack I wouldn't even be able to get back on my 16.3hh!!

Probably the author of one of the many petitions on No. 10 website, calling for horse riders to remove their horses poo from the road!!!

Well I cycle to the stables everyday, sometimes there is poo on the road, so I cycle round it! (Don't want to get my tyres dirty!)

Occassionally have cycled over it, never found it particularly slippery.

Also if horseriders had to pick up their horses poo, what would they do if horse pooed at a busy junction (or similar)? They'd have to dismount infront of all the traffic and try to hold a horse whilst clearing up the mess and probably annoy aload of car drivers by holding them up, not to mention if horse got away/was spooked by traffic build up. It's just not practical!

What an absolute pillock is what i say!!Country means horses,if he dont like it he should move back into town!HOW many bikers do you know that ride at a reasonable speed, lmao!!(surely if he was going that slow there be no need to "lean into a corner"????)

"Not so long back one of these stuck up bitches decided that a friends car, which had slowed down to overtake her horse passed to close and smacked it with her whip causing extensive damage."

Firstly, can you imagine how close the car must have been to be able to smack it with a whip!? And secondly, how on earth would that cause extensive damage?

Motor vehicles, especially buses, drop oil on the roads. Pedestrians drop litter and glass bottles. Tractors drop mud from their tyre treads. Cattle farms destroy tarmac (acid in cow muck). None of these groups are mentioned.

We have a lot of motorcyclists around here, which means that should I ever need an organ transplant, the motorcycling community can be relied upon to provide a ready supply when they wrap themselves around a lamp post, or have a head-on dangerously over-taking on a blind bend. If you need a transplant, keep your fingers crossed for a sudden downpour at the weekend.
