I know the topic's been done and done but...
I quite like the idea of recording hacks (road safety) and also if I ever do anything exciting again, but a lot seem to be mounted on the top of the hat. As I spend a fair chunk of any hack ducking branches, I figure it would last about 10 minutes up there before I was getting off to dig it out of a bog... Without breaking the bank, what are my options please?
(or, what else can I ask the OH for for my birthday, when if I DO start doing exciting things again, I'm going to be asking for a new BP!)

I use a ghost drift x on a shoulder mount. I've got a short horse but spend a lot of time bushwhacking so needed something sturdy and water resistant! The shoulder mount harness i bought seperately, I suspect it could be easily altered for other camera types if you wanted, the camera mount is just slid onto the strap so could be replaced.

If you search chili technology, they seem to do a rather inexpensive one which clips to the side of the hat via a hatband which I’m considering.
That sent me down a rabbit hole to this:

Have you got any pictures? I can't visualise a shoulder mounted option that wouldn't distract me!

I'm apparently unusual in that I really dislike my Techalogic DC1, and much prefer my tiny Muvi which clips on to the front of the hat band or the top of a pocket. Problem with the Muvi is the short battery life. If I had the cash I would probably get the new Techalogic single lens flat clip on camera and sell the two way one.

I'm still chuckling at the 'short horse' comment. I recently traded upwards, and am missing the short legs at times!

My Techalogic DC1 is side mounted on an elasastic hat band supplied by techalogic. The Techalogic DC-1 films from front and rear at the same time and I ise it every day and found it to be reliable. If you order direct from the Techalogic Web site and enter the code PWAS1 you will receive a 7% discount.

Only very bad ones xD annoyingly most photos i have of me riding when i'm wearing it are from the wrong side. Here you go, you can just see it on my right shoulder. It's normally not that high up as I don't usually wear a back protector, this is a screengrab from my friends helmet cam during a funride!

This is the shoulder mount harness. The camera looks like it gets in the way more than it actually does, I've ridden hundreds of miles with it and never hit my chin on it (even in a back protector) and the one time I came off wearing it I was fine, unlike helmet cams which can add risk. Most annoying thing is that when you peer round to check the indicator light, or for a car or something, sometimes when you're watching the vid later you have 9 chins or a great view up your nose 🤣 those bits dont make the final cut, needless to say.

I get it now. Um, the prospect of learning how to edit/sharing my triple chins with the world are making me shudder... !🤣
